Memphis-Shelby County, Tennessee, Housing Program Manager
Sharon Hyde serves as the Memphis-Shelby County, Tennessee, Housing Program Manager. She works with local partners to align, braid and coordinate home interventions to make homes healthy, safe and sustainable.
Sharon is a lifelong resident of Memphis and has worked most recently in the lead and healthy housing field as Shelby County Housing’s Program Manager for their Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Grant. Sharon was with Shelby County during seven rounds of HUD funding, beginning with the County receiving HUD Lead funding in 1993.
As a lifelong resident of Memphis, Sharon loves the city’s communities, and has served on many teams that want to see healthy and safe homes, as well. She attended the University of Memphis – receiving her BBA, The University of Tennessee’s County Officials Certification Program, and State Tech’s Business, Industry and Government program – graduating with her Principles of TQU and Customer Service Certification. Sharon is a licensed/certified Lead Hazard Control Inspector, Risk Assessor and Supervisor, licensed under Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC).
Having a daughter, Natalie, with severe asthma and eczema, Sharon wants to help other families make their home safe, so they do not have to suffer alongside of their children when there was no help to be found.Back to our people
