Monica Dean serves as the Director of Human Resources at Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (GHHI). In this role, Monica oversees the organization’s human resources functions, ensuring the recruitment of top talent and the implementation of effective HR policies. She focuses on fostering a positive work environment and works closely with the leadership team to align HR strategies with GHHI’s mission and business objectives.

Monica brings a wealth of experience to GHHI, having started her recruitment career in 1997 at Howard University. There, she was responsible for recruiting talent across multiple divisions and later became the Talent Acquisition Recruitment Coordinator in 2010. Her role involved end-to-end recruitment processes, working with hiring managers to fill positions that aligned with the University’s business goals. Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in recruitment, she expanded her expertise in 2014 by taking on the additional role of Compensation Specialist.

In 2015, Monica was promoted to Senior Talent Specialist, where she led a team in developing and training recruitment staff on full-life cycle recruiting efforts. Her responsibilities included providing strategic recommendations on position classification, hiring initiatives, and salary determinations. Before joining GHHI, she served as the Management Liaison Specialist for the Office of the State Superintendent of Education in Washington, DC, offering innovative recruiting strategies and supporting full-life cycle recruiting efforts.

Monica also gained significant experience at Business Management Associates, where she held several key roles. As the Deputy PMO Manager, she was responsible for overseeing project management operations, ensuring the successful execution of various initiatives. In her role as Senior Talent Acquisition Manager and HR Manager, Monica led recruitment efforts, developed HR policies, and managed talent acquisition strategies to support the organization’s growth and objectives.

Monica studied Business Management at Prince George’s Community College and is currently pursuing a Professional Certification from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP). Her extensive experience and dedication make her an invaluable asset to GHHI, ensuring that both the organization and its employees thrive.
