Senior Vice President of Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program

Abbey Cofsky is the Senior Vice President of GHHI’s Thriving Communities Grantmaking (TCGM) program. In this role, Abbey will lead a team in implementing a $50 million Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initiative to fund environmental justice projects in historically disinvested communities throughout the EPA’s mid-Atlantic region.

Prior to joining GHHI, Abbey was the Managing Director, Healthy Communities at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation where she oversaw the development and implementation of strategies, programs, and strategic initiatives that address the social and structural determinants of health at the intersection of community development, built environment, and public health. She and her team supported those working to create communities where the physical, economic, and social conditions ensure all residents have a fair opportunity to thrive and live their healthiest life.

Abbey holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Boston College and a Master of Public Health, Maternal and Child Health, from The George Washington University – Milken School of Public Health.
