Community-Site Engagement Technical Assistance Specialist

GHHI was established with support from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Council on Foundations, and 25 philanthropic foundations and 12 pilot cities in 2009. GHHI provides technical assistance and collaborates with government agencies, housing service providers, the health care sector and philanthropy to implement a cost effective and integrated process from application intake through the housing intervention process. GHHI focuses on the reduction of lead poisoning, asthma episodes, trip and fall injuries, energy loss and related costs to improve health, energy, educational and economic outcomes for families, children and seniors through evidence-based practices.

The Community-Site Engagement Technical Assistance Specialist will be responsible for the following duties among others:

• Serve as project liaison and local point person for a portfolio of GHHI sites and lead poisoning prevention initiatives around the country.

• Manage project responsibilities and partner relations at assigned sites including onboarding new sites and managing existing GHHI sites.

• Work with the leadership of the agencies, service providers and other local partners to lead and manage the development, implementation, and execution of a GHHI site work plan that accurately forecasts resource needs and aligns GHHI goals with standards, practices and principles to meet overall local objectives.

• Identify, develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners at each assigned GHHI site.

• Conduct conference calls with stakeholders in each site and periodically attend site Learning Network project meetings.

• Assist in asset mapping, process work flow and development of Work Plans for assigned sites to implement GHHI and other best practices.

• Identify and work to resolve barriers to GHHI model implementation at sites.

• Facilitate technical assistance from GHHI national team to site partners as needed.

• Assist with the creation of new tools and ensure accurate use of GHHI tools by sites.

• Provide project coordination assistance for selected jurisdictions that are participating in GHHI’s National Lead Campaign.

Provide training, technical assistance and project development assistance for selected jurisdictions that are pursuing lead poisoning prevention initiatives as part of GHHI’s National Lead Campaign.

• Conduct presentations, trainings and webinars; prepare materials as needed.

• Work closely with GHHI national staff on partnership development with federal agencies, philanthropy, and national organizations for key strategic relationships and partnerships that could bolster GHHI capacity and create new opportunities.

• Produce periodic progress reports to management on site progress and challenges as well as local lead poisoning prevention initiative updates under the National Lead Campaign.

• Provide support to GHHI national team and assist senior management with strategic planning, national site scaling and other innovation development.

• Assist with grant writing and development for GHHI sites and technical assistance clients as needed and appropriate.

• Provide support for annual GHHI Executive Leadership Institute and other conferences.

• Ensure assigned sites regularly report to the national office on local site unit production.

• Facilitate improved data collection, evaluation and client case studies by assigned sites to better measure and promote outcomes produced.


• Advanced Degree in public health, environmental science, communication, business management, government, or other related field preferred.

• Proven project management, writing, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

• A minimum of three years of experience in project and/or client management.

• Ability to work independently and lead local project site efforts while serving as part of a national team.

• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences/stakeholders orally and in writing.

• A demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and achieve results across multiple partnerships and agendas.

• Excellent presentation and training skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with program partners.

• Experience in public health, housing policy, home rehabilitation/repair, government, procurement, planning, environmental science, or energy efficiency a plus.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
