Donations to the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative (founded as the Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning) assist in our efforts to prevent childhood lead poisoning and create green, healthy and safe homes. All donations will be acknowledged with a written or electronic receipt. Help a family receive a 10-year Lithium Battery Smoke Alarm plus cabinet locks to improve home safety. Or, buy electrical outlet covers for 25 families to protect their young children from dangerous shocks!
Buy cabinet locks for 20 families to keep kids from accessing toxic cleaning materials.
Install new CFL light bulbs for 25 families to lower energy consumption and monthly energy bills.
10 carbon monoxide detectors installed; Or, replace an old leaded window with a lead free energy star window, or have a home tested for lead.
A full health, safety and energy assessment for one family’s home, and the installation of a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm. Or, programmable thermostats for 15 families to reduce energy consumption; Or, Healthy Homes training for 50 people.
Fund a Family Advocate Attorney to represent a low-income tenant family in a Rent Escrow action for the lead safe repair of lead hazards in their rental home when faced with an unresponsive rental property owner; Or, provide allergen reducing furnace filters for 50 families or lead swab tests for 100 homes.
Install 10 lead-free, ENERGY STAR windows for a family to protect their children from lead hazards and lower their energy costs.
Provide an ENERGY STAR replacement furnace for a family who has no heat or to help lower their monthly energy bills, often up to 30 percent.
Give one family a full Green & Healthy Homes Intervention, including a full health, safety and energy assessment of their home, 10 lead-free, ENERGY STAR windows, and an ENERGY STAR replacement furnace.
The Coalition to End Childhood Lead Poisoning is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Contributions to the Coalition are tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.
